Let’s move it, move it!

A month ago (yea, this is pretty back dated) I brought my adorable niece to Universal Studios. She was in love with the characters from Madagascar. Mind you, when I say in love… I seriously mean crazily in love.

She has been saying “Let’s move it, move it” every single day since ONE MONTH AGO!!!!

So here we are with the characters from Madagascar.

Here’s the lion…

us1

Here’s the Hippo… I like Hippos!

us2

And here are the penguins!

us3

And the monkey…

us6

Er, I guess it speaks about Gwyneth’s love for the monkey…

But I secretly love the giraffe the most…

us4

What I wore: Spaghetti dress from Uniqlo - oh so comfy in the burning 35 degrees, LV pouchette. Did I mention that I got a bad burn after being in the sun that day?

In the Madagascar zone, there is this carousel filled with almost life version of the characters. Due to Gwyneth’s enthusiasm about the whole “move it, move it” movement, we took the ride 4 times.

us9

Here’s Gwyneth’s solo picture with the gang…

us10

I know Gwyneth is looking forward to her next Universal Studios outing to do more “Move it, move it”

us11

And I’m looking forward to waffle fries at the Friar’s counter. Yum!

London has Big Ben, we have the Flyer.

Hello everyone! How are you doing? =)

Well, two weeks ago it was Mother’s day and we brought our dearest mummy to sit the Flyer. We had great fun!

flyer11

What I wore: Dress from Korea, 2.55, Tod’s jelly flats.

So what on earth is “The Flyer”? It is this huge Ferris wheel that overlooks Singapore’s main shopping and financial districts. About 20 people are packed into these air-conditioned capsules and are taken for a 30 minutes ride.

flyer8

We were really lucky as the sky was just clearing up from a heavy down pour. Plus, we got to see dusk falling on the cityscape. It was so pretty and such a treat.

My fearless niece was busy prancing around the cabin and goofing around. She has zero fear for heights.

flyer3

After a while, she got bored peeping at the other cabin and decided to snap pictures instead.

flyer2

Except that she doesn’t know how to press the “snap” button and she just basically “viewed” the surroundings through the LCD. Oh well.

But these are the pictures that I took during the 30 minutes ride.

flyer4

Click to see the enlarge version of the photo below. This was taken using one of the camera’s function. I like… I like!

flyer5

Dusk in Singapore. So amazingly gorgeous.

This is my home. My country. Singapore.

Anyway, this is the newly opened bridge called “The Helix”. It links the city to the newly opened Marina Bay Sands.

flyer6

See how the lighting has changed over the course of 30 minutes? It was night when we reached the end of our 30 minutes journey.

Well, my parents sure enjoyed the 30 minutes ride. And so did the littlest niece.

She says hi!

flyer7

Hope you have a great week ahead!

I’m way too cool.

photo

The #1000090 reason why I’m still in adoration of my niece even if she tears my room down every day.

1 more day to Chinese New Year’s Eve!

Happy Chinese New Year everyone. =)

Halloween Part 2

It was “green day” for halloween. =)

Green Day

My dearest girlfriend Bing wore a green Banana Republic Tee paired with jeans. I went with the renewable energy theme - thus the windmill in my hair (I did it myself!) and the $2 daiso windwill that I’m holding.

I wore a maxi dress from Blum, Tiffany charm bracelet, On pedder crystal slippers.

I so need to give my bangs a trim.

We played Indian poker, Wii, and more card games. Sadly, I got a rash from eating some nacho chips. My palms itched for 2 days.

And now… halloween decoration dominates my estate.

Say halloween

This family hung their decoration 2 weeks ago…

Boo

And another family had a love affair with flies…

Creepy Crawlie

Others preferred spiders…

Spider

This got to be one of my favourite photo.. Shhh don’t tell the neighbour that she tried to steal a pumpkin…

Pumpkin Patch

But she put it back immediately, because the pumpkin was filled with water!

Haha…

My grandpa says he’ll buy me this rabbit

After a lovely dinner at Sushi Tei, I popped by Antipodean to check out their new items.

Lele and rabbit

My niece fell in love with this rabbit. She sat on it and refused to leave it.

So when we got home, we asked her to show the photo to her grandpa and asked if he’ll buy it for her.

He agreed without knowing how much it cost.

*Chuckles*

Lele is going to have a rabbit that costs $279 for Christmas.

Vera is still not coming…

vera widgetIf you have noticed, there has been a Vera tracker on my blog.

According to the widget, Vera is suppose to be born really soon. But, there is no sign that she wants to come out anytime soon!!!

Waiting patiently for the moment that our entire family will scramble to the hospital - Grandpa, grandma, the daddy, the mummy, gwyneth, the maid, and me in tow.

Meanwhile, I’ll just endure G’s non-stop screaming in my ears, the night bickering over nonsensical things like her story books, and the frequent punches that she gives me aongside of her trying to steal my glasses (or breaking them).

Vera is coming

My baby niece, Gwyneth, has brought much joy into my life.

She fights with me at night over the telephone; punches and kicks me, and pulls my hair and clothes. She whines and charms me into doing things for her. She pulls things out of my drawers and conveniently disposes of them into the bin. She destroys my precious gems and tears my work up. She is like the sister that I never knew existed.

It hasn’t quite settled in, but I have another niece on the way!

Vera will be born anytime this week.

The thought of the hustling and bustling around another kid in the family is getting me excited!

Our family is praying that Vera will be a quieter version of Gwyneth, more of a thinker and less of an athletic little girl who climbs onto chairs, beds, and stairs whenever she can slip away.

Hey close up

Hey…

Pimple

Any closer and I’ll give you a kiss!

Le Le Pot

Le Le pot

I love my niece very very much.

Ate at Le Le pot at Tiong Bahru some two weeks ago. Simply made for my niece who we lovingly call Le Le too!

Le Le pot is opened by a Chinese celebrity. The eatery is decorated with walls of pictures of celebrities, framed in colourful Ikea frames. The air-conditioned place is also really clean and not smokey at all. I didn’t feel the urgent need to rush home to bath, unlike most other steamboat experience.

Dining in this steamboat place feels like you are eating at home. The service staff are friendly and smiley. A definite plus.

The steamboat buffet is really awesome. You can choose between the ala-carte version or buffet. I would recommend the buffet if you are dining for 5 or 6 (which is approx $25 per pax), and the ala-carte version if you are only eating for 2.

The buffet spread include prawns, chicken wings, mushrooms and poultry meat. Crab, sea cucumber, and cray fish are available at additional cost. All of which are presented in nice clean plates. Drinks are sold separately. Oh, and I love their desert! It is homemade ice jelly, or ice topped with durian, mango.

Evidently, I enjoyed stuffing myself to the brim at this cosy homely eatery.

Visit the Le Le Pot at Blk 58 Seng Poh Road #01-23 (opposite Tiong Bahru Market). Call to make reservations at 6222 9442. They can be rather crowded during weekends.
