Post Birthday

Hey babes! I’m back.

I had a blissful birthday week. I felt so blessed with many strokes of good blessings and luck throughout the whole week. I started the quarter-life with a bang. Yes, I admit. I have passed that age. But you know, it has been great!

In view that I was to have my Lasik done on Tuesday, I struggled to finish most of my individual assignments last week. I had 5-6 hours of sleep per night. On Saturday, I was pretty happy that I completed 2.5 essays and a long Math assignment.

To celebrate, I did a little shopping with my sister at one of our favourite little boutique in Novena. I couldn’t help myself, but I decided to try my luck at this UFO catcher - since my sister and I couldn’t catch anything the last time round. Look what I caught! The next time round I’m planning to catch 8 of these to change for the giant one.

015

(Wearing tunic by Chloe, carrying Miss vintage CC, and no make up!)

This is probably one of the rare times that I’m putting a picture up of me in my spectacles. This is to commemorate kissing goodbye to spectacles for a long time to come.

And that was the first stroke of luck!

The next day, I hung out with my JC classmates. We pigged out at a Jap buffet, and we head over to one of their office. His office overlooks Clarke Quay, and it was where I took the picture of my wallet on chain! Cool ehz?

Birthday strudel

(Wearing Zara dress, CC wallet on chain)

They got me a birthday strudel. I was really happy.

On my actual birthday, I had school; so sadly I attended class. But one of my friends gave me two petite cheesecake! It was delicious.

friends

(Wearing dress from Mphosis, ring Chanel and 2.55)

This is the 7 of us - with one missing. These girls make my course life really fun.

For lunch that day, I pigged out at NY NY. Got a pretty cup - which I haven’t taken picture of - from them as a birthday gift. At the arcade, I got a Melody toy! Talk about a blessed week.

At night, I had my dinner request granted and I ate at Sushi Tei - even my sushi-phobic parents had little say. Ha! Thereafter, it was celebration at home!

This was the best photo taken that night…

Gwyneth is celebrating her 2nd birthday soon. And look how big Vera as grown! She is barely 6 months old and is already only 2kg lighter than Gwyneth.

If you are wondering why is the cake scratched? That is Gwyneth’s doing.

On the day of my birthday, my sister was browsing through the online shops and asked if I wanted to buy something from the site. I actually secure this pair of Tory Burch for 30% off! It was the last pair and the size fits me perfectly!

Tory Burch

(Wearing Tory Burch with Sequins and in Antracite)

So very blessed. These flats are probably the most expensive shoes I have ever purchased. They are awfully comfortable, and I just love the subtle sequins.

The only downside for this birthday week, was that shortly after I did my Lasik. I fell down with food poisoning, and had to stay home to rest for the entire week; and I couldn’t do any homework as a result.

But it was a good birthday week nonetheless.

=) Thanks to everyone who made this week an awesome week for me!

Happy Birthday!

Hello! It is my birthday today. =)

To celebrate this day, this is what I got myself…

A red chanel wallet on chain.

chanel

Pretty ain’t it? Shipped from US. My sister got one as well.

Heading for Lasik tomorrow, and will only put up the Chanel posts later.

For now, cheers to being one year older and wiser.

In between Chanels, lies my Iphone.

Thanks so much to Cliff once more for passing me an updated version of this template - it  now fits nicely on iphones and netbooks. =) And I get to upload a new header as and when I want to with minimal hassle. Now that will stop me from procrastinating so much!

Talking about Iphones…

I have crossed over to the dark “white” side.

Iphone

I’m an apple convert - did I hear Ganny shout Hooray?

4 years ago, I had an Ipod video. It was purchased for my birthday by my dear friends (40 of them) who collectively chipped in for it. They all had the same thought it mind, “what to give a girl who has almost everything in the world?” So I thought, “hey, instead of getting me all these mini presents - which I will love nonetheless - why don’t you all chip in money for one present?” Brilliant idea. So it was an ipod video and one very happy girl.

4 years on, that Ipod video works like an angel. Except that syncing it into a new computer will be a complete nightmare.

And now, on this upcoming grand birthday (next week!), I get an Iphone. =)

On new years eve,  was in the shop, pondering about which phone to buy - an Iphone or a Nokia E92. 5 minutes before paying for the phone, I was still asking the salesgirl, “Should I get an Iphone or E92?” I think she gave me the best customer friendly smile, but in her mind it was probably, “Girl, get your phone quick. There are 20 people behind you and we are closing in 2 hours.”

So in a jiffy, I declared, “I’m getting an Iphone! I want it in black.”

I’m loving my Iphone this very moment. Sometimes, it makes me feel like a technology-idiot girl, but I’m still loving it. To girlify it, I added a red cover.

15 years ago, cell phones were the size of bricks. 10 years ago, people owned pagers; if you own a handphone, even if they were the size of your palm - you are cool. 5 years ago, flip phones were all in the rage; and if you have a phone with 2 mega pixels you are “in”. Now, all of the above is regarded as dinosaurs.

I wonder what will the market be like when Nexus comes into play.

Meet Miss Vintage CC

When I go shopping, I love lugging my sister with me; whenever I am about to buy something on impulse, she will talk me out of it with her “if you don’t buy this, you can save up to buy a Chanel” - and that probably stopped me from impulsively splurging like 1,000,000 times.

Ever since I started work in Jan’09, I have invested in 2 Chanel bags. I know what you’re thinking. How on earth did I manage to buy 2 Chanel bags within a year given that I’m not a lawyer or a banker, but just an average fresh graduate.

Beats me.

But, lo-and-behold. These 2 babies have really been a great investment. I purchased my 2.55 a month before the price hike, saving me at least $500. I am also thankful that I grabbed it before the craze started. As for my East-West, it was a 2nd hand buy from my sister - she was investing in another Chanel piece and wanted to sell it to a dealer - ha! Grabbed it before that dealer had a lucky find!

And now, introducing my 3rd love. Meet my first vintage Chanel. And probably my first vintage item…

Miss quilted classic flap in bronze lambskin and gold hardware. She was produced in the 90s and must have been owned by a careful buyer, because she is in such pristine condition, she looks absolutely new!

The best Christmas present that my sister has ever bought me! Love, love, love.

CC dust bag

What’s in the dust bag?

CC lock

Mmm, CC spotted! It’s vintage. Note the CC embossed on the lock. Newer bags don’t have these anymore.

Vintage CC

Voila. Ain’t it gorgeous? I love it. Look at the sheen. Can’t believe this baby is more than 10 years old!

CC Vintage 2

Another look at this baby. I’ve never owned a lambskin before, so I’m a bit wary of how to baby it. After all, I never did baby my 2,55 or East West.

And for now, meet the current family of CC bags.

CC family

Love the dose of colour. Thanks sister! Perhaps one day I ought to take photos of my sister’s entire CC bag collection. She has more than I have.

For now, I’m crossing my fingers to add one more to the collection.

Blessed Christmas folks!

Shall upload a recipe soon!

Clothes for Sale

If you’re wondering why haven’t I been so hardworking as to blog daily (unlike 2 months ago), that’s because I’ve been busy manning my little e-bay store.

My wardrobe needed a little tidying, since I’m popping out of school and heading straight back to the working world. But, I’ve been bit by the environmental conscious bug and I was inspired to sell clothes that I have outgrown, to people who will give it much love and care.

Do you know that 10 litres worth of water is used to produced one tee? How shocking.

So instead of throwing the clothes, I decided to sell them on e-bay.

So I’ve been hard at work snapping photos, taking measurements of all the clothes and communicating with buyers.

Click here to check out my little e-bay store for a sale you can’t miss. =)

Chanel Reissue Tragedy

My sister alerted me to a disturbing news. It seems that the House of Chanel is up to their tricks again.

It is apparent that they want to focus on producing the CC Classic Flaps handbags and will not produce as many Reissues. Being a true Reissue fan, I’m utterly distraught.

Since the reissue was re-released in 2005 to mark Chanel’s 50th anniversary, it has won the hearts of many. With its dainty Mademoiselle lock, user-friendly chained-straps and distressed look, it wasn’t difficult to see why the Reissue struck a firm friendship with its fans out there.

I had originally planned to acquire a Jumbo Reissue in a light colour sometime in the next two years. That will add depth to my current collection of Sisters Matt Black 2.55 and Black East-West. It does not only allow me to carry more stuff during the day’s activities, it also colours up my outfit.

Alas, my dream may never materialise - with the craze of sudden purchases from all its fans out there! I heard that Matt Black 2.55 is hard to get in quite a lot of places. (Thankfully I purchased mine already, before the price increase and before this crazy hunt)

What a sad piece of news for the day.

Can you imagine the resale price of the Reissues? But, no way am I parting with mon bebe.

What tragedy.

Traffic Safety

For the past few weeks, I have been pretty thankful that I do get a ride to school. And sometimes, I’m lucky enough to be able to drive myself back.

What struck me is that, there are a lot of traffic accidents on the road. Everyday. Every morning. Every evening. It’s like there is not a single day that I hear that there ain’t no traffic accident.

The other day, I was stuck in a jam on the PIE for one full hour. There was an accident involving multiple vehicles near Bukit Timah.

It was just two seconds, a glimpse, but the image stays etched in my mind.

It was a white cloth, a body losing its warmth; a face that will remain faceless to me; someone whom I’ll have never seen nor will ever known.

But it remains in my mind till today.

Drivers, riders and pedestrians - please for your sake, drive, ride and walk responsibly.

Drivers, please signal before you change lane. Other motorists can’t read your mind.

Riders, please don’t swerve in and out of the lanes. An inch of difference could cost you your life.

Pedestrians. Never trust motorists. Stop. Look. Walk. Please.

Feeling blue…

img_8047

Feeling blue from excessive studying. The remedy? A nice hot cup of hot chocolate with powder from Tim Hortons, whilst chilling to an ancient Brazillian CD, and browsing through snowy photos. Woot!!!! Whenever I’m blue, the white flakes cheer me up somehow. (Must be the insane weather in Singapore).

I promise myself that I need to put up a new header soon. Real soon…

And I need a long long day worth of uninterrupted sleep, and another day of a spa trip.

Cheers to more hot chocolate…
