Belle Maison Zakka

I have always been a stickler for aesthetic furnishing.

Be it a workspace or living space, I prefer them personalised. After all, working in a pretty space makes me happier and increases productivity. =)

My favourite haunts?

Ikea, Robinsons and Belle Maison Zakka.

It’s amazing what a right mix of furnishing can do to a common space.

These are some things that I fell in love with at Belle Maison Zakka…

1) The bird cage

207711

I love the little birdie! So romantic and cute at the same time.

2) The boxes

2143111

21411

Looks can be deceiving. The first box is bigger than the last. These will be placed at my workplace.

3) The trinket holder

mini-18801

This trinket holder was what started my love for Belle Maison Zakka. It’s unfortunate that I didn’t purchase it from the website, but from a retailer - she sold it to me for 4 times the price! Damn, I hate middleman. I took a better picture of the holder here.

4) The frames

mini-17601

I have a very soft spots for pretty frames. I started collecting frames since a year ago, and I must say I’ve amassed quite a number! They are all on rotation shift.

With a mix of frames of different colour and size, one can create quite a unique ensemble of wall art. They add character to my otherwise plain table. And did I already mention that I’m a stickler for aesthetic furnishing? Eye candy!

Valentine’s Day 2011

Today is Valentine’s Day.

It’s the day when people are struck by Cupids’ arrow and go starry eyes.

As far as my obsession with Chanel goes, Chanel’s costume jewellery has been such a let down this season that I’ve roaming eyes and drifted loyalty.

It’s nil to costume jewellery and nine to sexy shoes.

Here are some finds that sent me drooling.

So throw on your pumps, grab a clutch, slick some lip stick and have fun catching the falling stars.

Happy 400 - I heart Ferragamos

It’s my 400th post on this blog.

Wow, what a milestone. Every time I clock 100, I celebrate it with something special and lovely.

This post is no different.

xxx

I have a super duper soft spot for leather shoes. Since the end of 2009, I have resolved never to buy shoes that bite. Out goes PU shoes, in comes leather shoes.

1) I like my feet to be happy.

2) I like my shoes to go the distance with me.

3) I like the smell of fresh leather - it’s a strange fetish I’ve developed over the years (GAH).

Since then, I’ve only broken the rule once. I purchased a stylish PU suede bootie from Charles & Keith. Had to hunt it down in Raffles place for they were sold out island wide in less than a week!

Anyways…

Since that resolution in 2010, I’ve developed a softie heart for Ferragamos!

This lad started my obsession with the comfy shoes.

1a

I bought them on sale 3 seasons back. They were half size larger and I had to get my shoe maker to fill in with padding. The padding made the shoes so comfy, I practically lived in them for all my formal functions.

I’ve worn them to all my friends’ wedding dinners. It’s amazing how comfy they are judging that they add a cool 10cm to my height. All the other stilettos that I own - leather or not - makes the ball of my feet burn.

So during the last season’s sale, I woke up really early and headed for the annual sale.

My heart skipped many beats. I secured all the shoes that I’ve been eying all season!

2a1

My sister got this pair as well. We love nude shoes. They are so versatile.

Nudes are the new blacks.

3a

Adding a pop of colour is this pair of mustard heels. The plastic that you see peeking from the sole is rubber padding. A tip that I picked up from my shoe maker.

But my favourite buy at that sale, has got to be this…

4a

Paired with friendship band from Phuket. And my black tulle skirt from Japan.

Nude flats; in my size!!!!! I was so lucky.

Another girl wanted the same pair in the same size. She had spotted the pair before I did; but her SA got her a size bigger. My SA was quick - actually my sister was quicker and told the SA we wanted the pair in our size - and out she came with the correct size. There was only one pair.

Voila! It was love at first sight.

Tick tick tick. When will the spring sale happen?

xxx

Lots of hugs and kisses to all my readers who have made my day many times over. =)

Jewellery Pouch

Hello everyone, I hope you’ve been hanging on well this CNY.

It has been a rather gloomy mid-week for me. The temperature has soared and I’ve been nursing my flu at home. Not my favourite combination.

So I thought it’ll be a good time for me to blog once more!

prada1

Well, for the longest time I’ve been hunting down for a jewellery pouch to place my jewellery when I go travelling. I usually chuck them into a organza bag, which is a very bad habit.

Reebonz has been selling this Prada jewellery pouch since a few months back.

Satin and red. I like!

But the price really deterred me. At $300, I can’t imagine lugging this around in my LeSportSac Bag.

I rather splurge the money on another clutch!

lcpouch1

This has got to be one of the best accessories that Lemon Chiffon has brought in this CNY.

Only 4 colours are available.

lcpouch2

Orange, baby pick, hot pink and plum.

lcpouch3

I chose Plum. It’s bolder and deeper in person than in pictures. Very luxurious looking I must say. At $35, that’s more piggy bank coins for my clutch!

Snowfall in Skagen

Hello! How are you this CNY eve.

I’m so apologetic about my slow posts.

With work piled up to my neck and the CNY season, the only thing on my mind at 1030 every night is to hit the sack and say hello to beauty sleep.

But, I did set aside some time over the weekend to do a mini shopping.

And I finally, finally got the Skagen watch that I’ve been eying all Christmas.

I’ve been wanting to get a white watch since forever. Not many does white watch just right. It’s either too plastic, too juvenile, or too thick.

Why doesn’t anyone do sleek feminine white watches?

This white watch is from Skagen’s Christmas series “Snowfall in Skagen”. How befitting given that I have this crazy love affair with winter and snow.

It comes in a pretty package.

skagen

If only our fruits look that lovely and edible.

And here’s the watch.

skagen2

It came in three other colours, but my eye was only set for the white.

I love the clean surface with minimal markers. The frame is petite and sits well on the wrist. It’s like a bracelet except that it reads time. I’m also up for anything mother of pearl and bling.

The great thing about Skagen’s watches are that they have a life time warranty for crystals and movement. So if a Swarovski crystal falls, you will be able to get it repaired for free. This I figured, is a great advantage - can you imagine my horrified expression when I was told by City Chain that they charge $5 to replace a tiny Swarovski crystal? I can buy 72 mini crystals with that amount! My ToyWatch is no better. It costs $30 to get a crystal replacement.

Flabbergasted.

So there, I’m happy with my Skagen watch. It’s the second from the family - the first is a pink Skagen watch that I got at a special Reebonz sale for $75 - and probably not the last.

My birthday presents

This birthday, I’m extremely blessed by my family.

My sister got me the “Marry Me” Lanvin perfume on my wish list.

mm1

I wore the scent on my birthday.

I’ve got to say that this scent is really unique. A powerful concoction of flora fantasy.

In the first one hour, the scent was a tad bit overpowering. It smelled like my familiar mix of Chloe and Lanvin’s eclat d’arpege, yet different. It sure was sweet and not shy of making a strong statement.

For the next few hours till lunch time, there was a strong sharp note that I couldn’t quite decipher what it was. (A Google search revealed that this sharp note is a blend of bitter orange and peach. How intriguing.)

This sharp note soon trickled into whiffs of Magnolia by mid-afternoon. But by evening time, the mysterious scent evolved into a sticky sweet blend of red roses with an undertone of musk.

I’m impressed with the staying power of this perfume. Two spritz is all it takes to last you till dinner time. I’m thinking that it’ll go well with the Parisian winter.

And what did my parents get me?

mm2

I haven’t received birthday presents from my parents for many years. They usually treat me to a sumptuous dinner in replacement and I’ve always enjoyed it tremendously.

This year, my dad decided to get me a diamond eternity band. He also gave my sister an identical pair as an advance for her birthday.

The eternity band is so versatile and easy to pair with. It dazzles up all the gem stone rings that I’ve purchased over the years. I now want a stack of eternity bands!

And you probably know what I got for myself - the eye catching red Chanel bag that I posted on my birthday. On top of that, I got myself a beauty treat to pamper the delicate skin. Say no to ageing!

mm3

It’s also red.

mm4

The famed SKII treatment essence special pack.

Have a great week ahead!

Christmas 2010 what are you wearing?

Christmas is around the corner. And it’s time to dress up!

I love these dresses from Warehouse.

5563064877_15563064401

And these long column dresses.

55630649465563067161_1

Oh, if only I was that tall to carry off those maxi. So I settled for the black ruffled toga dress. =) It was featured in Grazia.

I’ve no idea why, but I’m so into togas that I bought two more dresses from Bysi. One of which was featured here.

What are you wearing this Christmas?

Carmine Bottega Veneta Wallet

The smell of a brand new leather good is so divine.

What makes me love this wallet even more? It’s painted a glorious blood-red shade.

I have no idea when this fatal fascination with red started. But I have 2 wallets and 2 coin pouches in red. My moleskin is red. And my first Iphone casing is red.

I purchased this item from the infamous Reebonz.  Remember one of my earlier post on the company? Do just follow the link to sign up to be a member!

bv1

It looks way much better in person than in the online photos.

bv2

Although, I do have to say that this wallet is definitely extremely delicate. I have to baby it by putting it in a pouch, for fear of it being scratched - a far cry from my hardy LV french wallet.

bv3

The wallet comes with 8 card slots - cards have to be slotted in and taken out gingerly, and a tiny zip pouch. It has only one slot for bills.

I was really surprised that this item was not snapped up within the first hour of its listing. It was only after 30 minutes of pondering that I decided to get it - but I need to count my lucky stars, because it was the last piece!

Lemon Chiffon Haul

It’s the Great Singapore Sale season once more… Day one of the GSS and I got myself a pair of heels befitting to attend my good friends’ wedding. But that’s a story for another day. Haven’t had the time to take snap shots of the pair of shoes…

For now… I’m pretty please with my new collection from Lemon Chiffon. I know, I should totally burn my plastic cards before going to that shop. Lol.

LC dress

I love this maxi dress to the core. Being petite in size, it ain’t an easy feat to find a maxi dress that fits me without having to alter it!

I pair the dress with this necklace.

Lc necklace

LC dress 2

This is a little different from my usual pretty feminine dresses (or so my friend says). You know deep down I’m a partial tom-boy and I love edgy outfits to spice up my otherwise ‘dressy’ wardrobe. I admit, I own more dresses than pants and top.

Lc dress 3

I bought a dress similar to this except that mine has white trimmings instead of black. I prefer it with white as it looks cleaner. Wore this to a friend’s wedding.

Lc dress 4

I always abide by this ‘if it can’t fit, don’t buy it’ policy. I know this dress looks pretty plain on the hanger and a little washed out in this picture. But I really couldn’t help but buy it - even though I have to shed like at least 2 more kg to fit comfortably in this piece. The pains of being curvy and not athletic thin like my niece!!!

Lc belt

I’m definitely in my belt phase. I have purchased more than 5 belts in the past 2 months… and I’ve only one waist!

However, I’m in love with these high waist belts. They fit on my waist and give my body definition. We got them in (breathe) white, navy blue, brown, and orange.

LC belt

I also succumbed to buying one of the hairband…

LC hairband

And hair tie… My hair ties break so easily!

Lc hair tie

And my sister purchased these pretty pair of earrings!

My new “It” bag.

Say hello to my first ever bag from Balenciaga.

When I was unwrapping the parcel… it felt so similar to the feeling I had when I was seeing my nieces for the first time after they were born.

I didn’t feel this way when I unwrapped my beloved 2.55!

My new baby in Sang. She is of the Maxi Twiggy style. Doesn’t she remind you of the notorious LV speedy?

I love I love I love…
