Gusttimo with Brian

Say hello to my friend, Brian, whom I haven’t met in 3 years!

BrianVisits2

We go way back when I was an exchange student in Winnipeg. We used to chill out - literally - in icy cold Manitoba. He was one of the funny guys whom I enjoyed talking with, because he never runs out of conversations.

I recall ’stunning’ his alarm clock for the good 4 months, because I had ditched mine in Singapore. And I recall us talking about the rivalry between a dog called Mee Pok and a cat called Meowmee on the day of my departure.

Well fast forward 3 years, and look at Brian! All grown up and way much slimmer than before. Good job!

So being a good host =D , I took him around one of Singapore’s latest shopping mall Ion. We had ice-cream at Gusttimos and chatted for some time.

BrianVisits

I swear this is going to be my favourite ice-cream parlour in Singapore for as long as they have green apple ice-cream. My face totally lit up the moment I savoured the sourness of the ice-cream.

Heaven.

I know what you are thinking. Who in the right mind loves to eat green apple. It is so freaking sour! Well…  my favourite drink - besides Canadian ice wine - is green apple juice. I love the sourness with a tinge of sweetness. It makes my digestive system tickle with glee.

The green apple ice-cream was like sherbet but even better. I mixed that sour green apple flavour with my all-time love hazelnut and chocolate ice-cream and even it out with sweet mango flavour.

I’m definitely going to eat the same 3 flavours on my next visit.

Chanel

Even my 2.55 loves the ice-cream parlour!

Thereafter, we walked around the shops in Ion. However, I didn’t think he was as much of a shoppaholic as I am; so, I took him to the food court to try out one of Ion’s best snacks… Takoyaki! No visitor in Singapore can leave without indulging in our favourite pass time - eating.

As much as I do think that nothing beats eating Takoyaki in Japan; this takoyaki stall sells the best takoyaki in Singapore.

BrianVisits3

Brian liked it!

BrianVisits4

So did I!

Before I knew it, it was time to say goodbye again. Ah, good times surely flies.

Have a safe trip Brian!

300 post - Loving my CC ring.

Hooray to 300! Yeap folks, today marks my 300th blog entry. Just want to thank everyone for reading my blog and showering me with your love. =)

What a feat. I know I haven’t been the most consistent blogger on this planet, jumping from genre to genre. But I’ve since found what I truly love to blog about - Chanel, friends, my nieces, and just about daily life.

I haven’t summed the courage to blog about my daily outfits (with only me, myself and my camera). But I’ll get to that someday.

Meanwhile, hooray to 300! And to celebrate it, here’s what I got =)

Some say, “diamonds are a girl’s best friend”. I’ll say, “So is Chanel”.

I’m really excited to add this little pretty thing to my collection of Chanel accessories. I haven’t had the opportunity to wear it yet. It is too bling to be worn to work! On the hindsight, it does make a delightful cocktail ring.

On the last trip, I also got my Tsarina ring fixed!

Oh yes, I have a good piece of news to tell you folks. Singapore’s store is now carrying a brand new Tsarina ring. I’m starting to think that it is never impossible to find something that has been sold out because the Chanel stores seem to be buying from one another.

Another good piece of news worthy to be shared. I have crossed over to being a car owner. It sure is costly to own a piece of structured metal that runs on wheels.

Cheers to my CCs, car and 300 posts!

Happy week everyone!!

River Hong Bao

2 weeks ago, I went house visiting with my JC friends. It saddens me that more of my classmates are opting out of such gatherings due to their tight schedules.

But I had fun with those that turned up. Even though there were only 3 of us… Plus two other halves.

We headed to the river hong pao. Which is an annual affair organised to coincide with the Chinese New Year festive. I buzzed around the theme park and slurped up the energy.

2 full months without a tinge of eye make up!

riverhongpao

My good pals Mingren (a boss!) and Shan (bride-to-be!). I wore blue layered dress with a sweetheart neckline, 2.55 and a necklace purchased from Japan.

riverhongpao2

So many people! Thankfully it was not too squeezey.

riverhongpao3

We made it to the floating platform! It ain’t my first time stepping on this ground, but I like the experience anyway.

Alright I admit, I did gain a little weight from the munching of CNY goodies. But I’ve since lost the weight gain after going on a no rice and plenty of 100 plus diet. I heart my red nail polish.

riverhongpao4

My favourite part was the carnival. I have no guts to take the thriller ride, but I could tell that my dear pal was all ready to head on board.

riverhongpao5

Sorry for the rain stains. I have no idea that my camera was so dirty.

Thereafter we took a long stroll to chill at Esplanade Drive.

I really love the scenery.

riverhongpao6

And the structure that stood in the rain and sun…

riverhongpao7

Showcasing my beloved 2.55 once more.

riverhongpao8

I say aye aye. I love my 2.55 so.

Happy week everybody!

Chanel Love Day 7

If you have noticed, I have alternated the bags - first day is my sister’s, the next is mine - for the Chanel Love Day blogs. For the next two posts, I will be showing you my sister’s Chanel.

The least familiar Chanel bag in this house to me is this jumbo black classic flap in caviar. My sister rarely takes it out for a stroll and its snoozing cozily in the attic - don’t get me wrong; my sister lives on the highest floor, aka the attic.

Classic Flap Jumbo

She is cavier black, extremely sturdy and tough.

Chanel lock

The interlocking CC is similar to my East-West.  She comes in silver hardware with intertwined leather.

Chanel Inner

The inner compartments.

I think this is one of the first few Chanels that my sister bought, but she rarely uses it. Perhaps it is because she is bulkier than her sisters.

But we love her no less. =)

Happy Birthday!

Hello! It is my birthday today. =)

To celebrate this day, this is what I got myself…

A red chanel wallet on chain.

chanel

Pretty ain’t it? Shipped from US. My sister got one as well.

Heading for Lasik tomorrow, and will only put up the Chanel posts later.

For now, cheers to being one year older and wiser.

Chanel Love Day 6

You have seen her before last December in this post. She is a Christmas present from my sister and a real beauty as well. She takes really good pictures.

Vintage CC

I love that she has retained her shape really well despite being born in the 90s. She has made me re-think about owning something vintage.

Vintage CC

There ain’t many scratches and she does not carry any scent. Remember what I told you about that vintage CCs will carry a special emboss that currently CCs do not?

CC lock

I can’t figure out what does it say, but it is suppose to mean that the CC is 24-gold plated. That does explain why the gold chain is still in pristine condition.

Another shot of the lock upclose (below):

And the inner compartments:

You must agree with me this is an incredible find.

I’m one such luck girl.

Chanel Love Day 5

Hooray! The blog has been fixed! Thanks so much to Cliff. This pretty site template that you see is created by him. Do check out his site.

Anyway, with a little spare time to squeeze, I’m back with the Chanel loving entries.

Today, I introduce to you my sister’s favourite lug-and-go of all times. The Chanel camera bag.

Camera Bag

The camera bag is known for its slouchy appearance. Best matched with casuals. Being a mother of two, my sister carries this bag wherever she goes, because she doesn’t have to pamper it as much.

Even though the size of this bag is comparable to that of my 2.55, it can store way much more stuff inside. There is also a huge pocket in front for you to stash something in a hurry.

Camera bag lock

The camera bag does not have a lock like the classic flaps or the reissues, but it has a metal embellishment that bears resemblance to that of the reissues. The camera bag has a main zipped compartment and there is another tiny compartment.

camera bag inner

The inner compartment is lined with the same red leather lining as the reissue 2.55.

This is a great alternative if you want to get a casual bag. =)

Wishing you a great week ahead!

Chanel Love Day 4

Day four of Chanel love.

2.55 Black CC

How can I forget this black beauty? This lady is probably the Chanel bag that I carry out the most - chic, versatile, easy to match, and an instant glam to any outfit that I’m wearing.

Reissues are characterised by their distressed calf leather and metal chains. Truth be told, I prefer the material used for this than classic flaps. It is soft to touch - unlike the hardy cavier; yet not as easily scratched compared to lambskin surfaces.

Being petite in size, I bought this baby in the medium size; and it fits me to a tee. I can carry most of my stuff inside the bag comfortably - wallet, pouch and phone.

And I totally love the fact that it is suitable as a day to night bag.

So how did I obtain this baby? It wasn’t purchased in Singapore outlet; but hand-carried by my sister’s friend from the Paris outlet. I called the Paris outlet - spoke in French - and reserved it prior to being picked up.

The price of this bag in Singapore? SGD5000. Insane…

CC 2.55 lock

I love the rustic look of the Mademoiselle lock (above). Do you? And a peek into the inner compartments (below).

Day five here we come! Introducing my sister’s favourite lug and go.

Chanel Love Day 3

Please bear with me as I adjust this site to align correctly.

Day three. Look! I’ve uploaded a new header. There is just something beautiful about changing weathers - between rain, snow and icicles. Sigh, I’ve reverted back to this till I’m able to iron out the problem. Sorry folks!

Reissue Bronze

Ah, a breath of fresh air. Kudos to my sister for getting this bronze reissue.

I have to admit when my sister wanted to buy this, even though I outrightly told her, “Good buy, good buy.”; I silently pondered, “what in the world is she thinking again?”

Three months later, I take all my words back.

She is easy to carry, and is pleasingly different from the classy black.

I think this is from Fall’08 or Spring’09 - got to check with my sister to verify. An absolute difficult find; not all Chanel carries this bronze and it’s elusive - at least that’s what the SA told me. And no, this was not purchased from Singapore nor the US.

In other words, my sister is lucky to have found it.

Another look, straight up front:

And the Mademoiselle lock and the inner compartments (below):

I long for the day, I can afford to buy one of these reissues in a different colour! For now, my classy black 2.55 is my best friend through day and night.

Chanel Love Day 2

Day two. Featuring my first ever CC.

Chanel East West 1

I’m pretty sure you have seen a blog or two on this classic East-West. Purchased this from my sister, who almost sold it to a second-hand shop dealer - I remember that that dealer was absolutely interested in this bag; she kept saying, “can sell for high price, I can quote you high price”.

The East West or E/W as some calls it or otherwise known as the pochette, measures 10″l x 5.5″h x 2″d. It is more suitable to be an evening bag than a day bag as you cannot put much inside - my wallet is big!

It spots a single bag strap that is found on all classic flaps - metal intertwined with leather. Recent addition to this family does have double straps.

The bag comes in silver or gold hardware; in cavier or lambskin.

In 2008, Christy Turlington was the muse of Karl Lagerfeld, and face of the East West bag.

Good day y’all. =) On to day 3 of Chanel Love.
