The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

If you have been thinking about going vegetarian for a while, but never took the leap of faith… Watch this show and you might just decide to jump onto the wagon.

You will not look at a piece of meat in the same light. Ever again.

tattoo

Powerfully written and cleverly directed, this is definitely not a show for the faint-hearted. With every minute that ticks by, you will be kept at the edge of your seat - cringing.

I felt sick 30 minutes into the movie. But it was so good, I just had to stay to watch.

Who is the killer? Who is so brutal and cruel?

I just had to know. I just… had to.

It’s a twisted story of a family with dark secrets to hide. And you, would want to know that dark secret.

One of the member has killed the precious Harriet Vanger, and Henrik Vanger - CEO of the Vanger corporation wants to know who did it. It must be one of the family members - they are thirsty to gain control of the Vanger’s assets.

But… who?

Sounds a little like cluedo doesn’t it? Check you are it.

Morbid, horrifying and bloody - all at once - creates a very strange odd concoction of a story.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Serendipity

During my trip to the reservoir with my nieces, I spotted a pretty cool spot.

Falling in love with nature.

What a joy.

Xing Wang Cafe

Singapore is a unique country. What I love best about Singapore? The food.

After going for a nice walk at the reservoir with my nieces, we headed to Xing Wang cafe at Yishun for our lunch.

xw1

After burning under the hot sun for one hour, nothing beats drinking a nice cold cup of lychee tea - well… except drinking green apple - but this cup of lychee tea is really delicious. =D

Another specialty of most Hong Kong cafes is their french toast with honey and butter.

xw4

However, topping that, is the never ending list of finger-linking pork chop dishes.

Vote for your favourite!

#1. Tomato-pork baked rice.

#2. Curry flavoured pork noodles.

#3. Black pepper pork chop with fries.

Say… Yum!

Carmine Bottega Veneta Wallet

The smell of a brand new leather good is so divine.

What makes me love this wallet even more? It’s painted a glorious blood-red shade.

I have no idea when this fatal fascination with red started. But I have 2 wallets and 2 coin pouches in red. My moleskin is red. And my first Iphone casing is red.

I purchased this item from the infamous Reebonz.  Remember one of my earlier post on the company? Do just follow the link to sign up to be a member!

bv1

It looks way much better in person than in the online photos.

bv2

Although, I do have to say that this wallet is definitely extremely delicate. I have to baby it by putting it in a pouch, for fear of it being scratched - a far cry from my hardy LV french wallet.

bv3

The wallet comes with 8 card slots - cards have to be slotted in and taken out gingerly, and a tiny zip pouch. It has only one slot for bills.

I was really surprised that this item was not snapped up within the first hour of its listing. It was only after 30 minutes of pondering that I decided to get it - but I need to count my lucky stars, because it was the last piece!

Happy 45th Birthday Singapore!

I’m so proud of our little nation. In less than half a century, we have transformed from a third world country to a first world nation.

Happy Birthday Singapore!

Chanel Ribbon Necklace

I hate to admit this, my heart does not wander far from Chanel accessories.

So bite me.

Out goes the books, in comes a shopping session at Chanel.

Late last year, I was pondering for a super long time whether I should get the clover necklace. A season later, the clover craze was made famous by SJP…

sjp

Needless to say. The day the clover necklace was re-launched (I stepped into the shop a day earlier! And the SA said they have no idea if it was coming back! BOOO!), it was sold out.

I have since lost interest in the clover necklace.

I have, however, developed a love for its counterpart. The ribbon necklace.

Grand Canyon Day Tour

If you’re visiting Las Vegas for the first time, you should take a day off to visit the Grand Canyon. You can enquire about the day trip at any of the hotel concierge along the Strip.

Usually, it’s blazing hot in the Grand Canyon, but on the day that I visited… It was so cold! Thank God, I brought my jacket.

First stop, Hoover Dam.

This is where the miracle of Las Vegas begins - it powers the entire city.

The Grand Canyon is truly a sight to behold. I feel so tiny!

Everyone takes a breather at Bright Angel Lodge. You can purchase stones and other memorabilia.

Or… Snap photos at the viewing porch outside the lodge. The scenery is really gorgeous.
