Yoshi!

It’s a long tiring weekend of completing assignments. It has been 2 years since I last had school meetings on a Sunday. All the days of slogging hard in the study rooms, rushing to finish group projects after group projects.

I miss the days of chilling with friends thereafter, over dinner or just a cup of hot chocolate (I don’t drink coffee). These days people are just too busy and pre-occupied with their work and family matters to meet up with people.

A sign that everyone is growing older? Perhaps.

Well, after the meeting I’m looking forward to trying my luck at the prize station. This was what I got the last time round I spent 4 hours catching…

Yoshi Gwyneth and Melody

Yoshi! Ain’t that giant? =)

My sister is secretly wishing to bring home the huge Hello Kitty.

Everybody’s Fine

What an insane week it has been. Having been sick for two weeks in a row, I took a week-long break from school to rest at home. And sadly, the irritable-tummy syndrome struck again. So I’m up at 2.30 am, feeling bothered by my pained tummy and typing away to finish my never ending homework.

Did I mention that my external hard disk died on me, and my main lappy has been sent for repairs?

Besides all that, I have had a fantastic week.

It was Gwyneth’s birthday yesterday. She turns 2!

I’m awfully impressed by how much she has grown. She is running more than she is walking. She talks in almost full sentences now. And she understands everything that we adults are conversing about! She even laughs at tv shows at the funny moments.

On thursday, my sister and I brought her to watch her 3rd movie in the cinema. (Goodness, my first ever movie was Lion King and I was 10 years old! And Gwyneth has watched 3 movies before turning 2!)

We watched “Everybody’s Fine”. What a family story.

The story evolved around a family whose Dad is always left out of the loop because the kids always thought he needed them to grow up to be perfect adults who lead fantastic life. As the show comes to an end, the kids realise that their Dad doesn’t need them to be perfect adults and just wants them to be happy in things that they do - cliche. As the show comes to an end, it was revealed that the youngest son dies due to overdose whilst in a Mexican club. But the family becomes stronger in return.

I still stick by “Love Actually” as my favourite holiday movie. You know, it wasn’t till I watched the full version in Canada that I realise the reason why one couple gave their parents a stare when they asked them how they met. Singapore’s MDA sure censors heavily. If you don’t already know

Enough of digressing.

I just wanna wish my lovely niece, a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Chanel Love Day 7

If you have noticed, I have alternated the bags - first day is my sister’s, the next is mine - for the Chanel Love Day blogs. For the next two posts, I will be showing you my sister’s Chanel.

The least familiar Chanel bag in this house to me is this jumbo black classic flap in caviar. My sister rarely takes it out for a stroll and its snoozing cozily in the attic - don’t get me wrong; my sister lives on the highest floor, aka the attic.

Classic Flap Jumbo

She is cavier black, extremely sturdy and tough.

Chanel lock

The interlocking CC is similar to my East-West.  She comes in silver hardware with intertwined leather.

Chanel Inner

The inner compartments.

I think this is one of the first few Chanels that my sister bought, but she rarely uses it. Perhaps it is because she is bulkier than her sisters.

But we love her no less. =)

Post Birthday

Hey babes! I’m back.

I had a blissful birthday week. I felt so blessed with many strokes of good blessings and luck throughout the whole week. I started the quarter-life with a bang. Yes, I admit. I have passed that age. But you know, it has been great!

In view that I was to have my Lasik done on Tuesday, I struggled to finish most of my individual assignments last week. I had 5-6 hours of sleep per night. On Saturday, I was pretty happy that I completed 2.5 essays and a long Math assignment.

To celebrate, I did a little shopping with my sister at one of our favourite little boutique in Novena. I couldn’t help myself, but I decided to try my luck at this UFO catcher - since my sister and I couldn’t catch anything the last time round. Look what I caught! The next time round I’m planning to catch 8 of these to change for the giant one.

015

(Wearing tunic by Chloe, carrying Miss vintage CC, and no make up!)

This is probably one of the rare times that I’m putting a picture up of me in my spectacles. This is to commemorate kissing goodbye to spectacles for a long time to come.

And that was the first stroke of luck!

The next day, I hung out with my JC classmates. We pigged out at a Jap buffet, and we head over to one of their office. His office overlooks Clarke Quay, and it was where I took the picture of my wallet on chain! Cool ehz?

Birthday strudel

(Wearing Zara dress, CC wallet on chain)

They got me a birthday strudel. I was really happy.

On my actual birthday, I had school; so sadly I attended class. But one of my friends gave me two petite cheesecake! It was delicious.

friends

(Wearing dress from Mphosis, ring Chanel and 2.55)

This is the 7 of us - with one missing. These girls make my course life really fun.

For lunch that day, I pigged out at NY NY. Got a pretty cup - which I haven’t taken picture of - from them as a birthday gift. At the arcade, I got a Melody toy! Talk about a blessed week.

At night, I had my dinner request granted and I ate at Sushi Tei - even my sushi-phobic parents had little say. Ha! Thereafter, it was celebration at home!

This was the best photo taken that night…

Gwyneth is celebrating her 2nd birthday soon. And look how big Vera as grown! She is barely 6 months old and is already only 2kg lighter than Gwyneth.

If you are wondering why is the cake scratched? That is Gwyneth’s doing.

On the day of my birthday, my sister was browsing through the online shops and asked if I wanted to buy something from the site. I actually secure this pair of Tory Burch for 30% off! It was the last pair and the size fits me perfectly!

Tory Burch

(Wearing Tory Burch with Sequins and in Antracite)

So very blessed. These flats are probably the most expensive shoes I have ever purchased. They are awfully comfortable, and I just love the subtle sequins.

The only downside for this birthday week, was that shortly after I did my Lasik. I fell down with food poisoning, and had to stay home to rest for the entire week; and I couldn’t do any homework as a result.

But it was a good birthday week nonetheless.

=) Thanks to everyone who made this week an awesome week for me!

Happy Birthday!

Hello! It is my birthday today. =)

To celebrate this day, this is what I got myself…

A red chanel wallet on chain.

chanel

Pretty ain’t it? Shipped from US. My sister got one as well.

Heading for Lasik tomorrow, and will only put up the Chanel posts later.

For now, cheers to being one year older and wiser.

The cranky lappy.

Hey folks. If you’re wondering why I haven’t been blogging. That is because, my “supposedly” fixed computer kicked up a fuss, and refuse to cooperate with me. Hence, leaving me unable to put up new entries with my Chanel bags (all the photos were on that lappy)!

The agony of being left in the lurch with using my daddy’s netbook instead that is equally cranky; and I’m pondering if I should take new pictures of all the bags.

Well on the bright side, it is my birthday tomorrow, and I’m most likely taking out my new birthday present with me. =)

And on an even brighter side…. I won my first dream-catcher toy yesterday! With a little luck, and some tutoring from the staff, I got myself a cute little Yoshi (from Mario).

Photos upload soon. I hope. *fingers cross*

Chanel Love Day 6

You have seen her before last December in this post. She is a Christmas present from my sister and a real beauty as well. She takes really good pictures.

Vintage CC

I love that she has retained her shape really well despite being born in the 90s. She has made me re-think about owning something vintage.

Vintage CC

There ain’t many scratches and she does not carry any scent. Remember what I told you about that vintage CCs will carry a special emboss that currently CCs do not?

CC lock

I can’t figure out what does it say, but it is suppose to mean that the CC is 24-gold plated. That does explain why the gold chain is still in pristine condition.

Another shot of the lock upclose (below):

And the inner compartments:

CC vintage inner

You must agree with me this is an incredible find.

I’m one such luck girl.

In between Chanels, lies my Iphone.

Thanks so much to Cliff once more for passing me an updated version of this template - it  now fits nicely on iphones and netbooks. =) And I get to upload a new header as and when I want to with minimal hassle. Now that will stop me from procrastinating so much!

Talking about Iphones…

I have crossed over to the dark “white” side.

Iphone

I’m an apple convert - did I hear Ganny shout Hooray?

4 years ago, I had an Ipod video. It was purchased for my birthday by my dear friends (40 of them) who collectively chipped in for it. They all had the same thought it mind, “what to give a girl who has almost everything in the world?” So I thought, “hey, instead of getting me all these mini presents - which I will love nonetheless - why don’t you all chip in money for one present?” Brilliant idea. So it was an ipod video and one very happy girl.

4 years on, that Ipod video works like an angel. Except that syncing it into a new computer will be a complete nightmare.

And now, on this upcoming grand birthday (next week!), I get an Iphone. =)

On new years eve,  was in the shop, pondering about which phone to buy - an Iphone or a Nokia E92. 5 minutes before paying for the phone, I was still asking the salesgirl, “Should I get an Iphone or E92?” I think she gave me the best customer friendly smile, but in her mind it was probably, “Girl, get your phone quick. There are 20 people behind you and we are closing in 2 hours.”

So in a jiffy, I declared, “I’m getting an Iphone! I want it in black.”

I’m loving my Iphone this very moment. Sometimes, it makes me feel like a technology-idiot girl, but I’m still loving it. To girlify it, I added a red cover.

15 years ago, cell phones were the size of bricks. 10 years ago, people owned pagers; if you own a handphone, even if they were the size of your palm - you are cool. 5 years ago, flip phones were all in the rage; and if you have a phone with 2 mega pixels you are “in”. Now, all of the above is regarded as dinosaurs.

I wonder what will the market be like when Nexus comes into play.

Chanel Love Day 5

Hooray! The blog has been fixed! Thanks so much to Cliff. This pretty site template that you see is created by him. Do check out his site.

Anyway, with a little spare time to squeeze, I’m back with the Chanel loving entries.

Today, I introduce to you my sister’s favourite lug-and-go of all times. The Chanel camera bag.

Camera Bag

The camera bag is known for its slouchy appearance. Best matched with casuals. Being a mother of two, my sister carries this bag wherever she goes, because she doesn’t have to pamper it as much.

Even though the size of this bag is comparable to that of my 2.55, it can store way much more stuff inside. There is also a huge pocket in front for you to stash something in a hurry.

Camera bag lock

The camera bag does not have a lock like the classic flaps or the reissues, but it has a metal embellishment that bears resemblance to that of the reissues. The camera bag has a main zipped compartment and there is another tiny compartment.

camera bag inner

The inner compartment is lined with the same red leather lining as the reissue 2.55.

This is a great alternative if you want to get a casual bag. =)

Wishing you a great week ahead!

School is starting. Rush!

My blog is going a little gaga, my homework still needs some tidying, and I need more sleep!

Signs that school is about to begin once more.

Come Monday, I’ll be packing my bag-pack - yea, I’m that geeky - and trashing it out with the morning packed train. I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a struggle to stay awake in class.

I’ll resume putting up the Chanel posts as soon as I get my homework done. Don’t want to start 2010 on a really really wrong foot. But you won’t be disappointed folks, because I will be blogging about my birthday present to myself soon. It arrived in the post the other day!

In the mean time, it’s rush rush rush to complete the assignments.

GAH! Mornings would be so blue without hearing Gwyneth scream in my ears or attempt to make Vera smile - she’s the morning baby.

I’m already missing my nonsensical nieces! And it’s only Saturday!
