2.55

chanel255admedium2.55. To the fashion clueless, this is just a strange number. To the fashion addict, this is a holy number.

2.55 - elegant, classy, and tres chic. It is not an “It” bag. It is a timeless bag. Past, present, and future.

With all gratitude to Mademoisell Coco Chanel, the Paris fashion house is unstoppable even during this economic crisis. In fact, it has been growing by leaps and bounds.

Have you ever heard of a bag appreciating with time? Voila, 2.55 is one such bag. You buy a 2.55 today, and you will most likely be able to sell it at its retail value or more (applies especially to seasonal colour).

Crafted solely in France or Italy and made from top grade of cavier or lambskin leather, the Chanel 2.55 exudes a class of its on. With a simple quilted design and hardy metal chain straps or a leather woven chain (reissue and classic flap respectively), the Chanel 2.55 is good to go anywhere - it can be carried to the board room, to the cinema, even to a wedding dinner.

You can never go wrong with this classic beauty.

I can’t wait to get my hands on one myself.

East Coast Park Cycling

It has been such a long time since I went tanning. On friday, I went cycling with my friends.

East Coast Cycling

I just love the sun, the sea, and the sky!

East Coast Park

Whilst lying on the beach, we saw some big airplanes zoom past.

Sky

I was rather amused that there were budding morning glory on the sandy beach.

Morning Glory

To end the 3 hours ride, I had a sumptous steak dinner at Aston, which is this 90s diner at Joo Chiat. I like red meat. =)

Mean stripes storm the world

parrin aldomarcey aldoalamin aldo

I’m on a shoe fetish sprint. I longed for a pair of boots (after a tragic MIA of my favourite boots read it here in booty gloom) and finally found a replacement pair, that I really love - which, happens to be from the same season as that first pair of boots. I’m so elated that they are coming soon.

And then the snake print shoes caught my eye.

I’m not exactly into the gladiators fashion, but I kinda am drifting into this mean-girl foot wear. Something spunky, something fun, something edgy, something rough. I so adore these toughies from Aldo. They would add a nice spin to an otherwise girly frock.

With the introduction of these black beauties, mark the start of banishing character-less shoes. I just can’t wait to see what autumn-winter shoes will be like.

Finding Balance

Every now and then, I like to just sit in solitude, and reflect.

It keeps me balanced.

Morphing into young adulthood, is intriguing and fun. And yet at the same time, scary and nerve-wrecking.

Like most people, I need to remind myself to steer clear of the materialistic trap. But that is only a small problem. That is manageable and I’m no way close to needing therapy to ween off shopping.

My biggest problem though, is that so very often, I forget what a wonderful world God had created. I was tubbing and I came across songs  I once loved so much (click for the song 1 and song 2). It touched my heart once again.

It re-inspired me.

Singapore is by no means a country endowed with natural beauty. We have more tarred roads than we have of gravel roads. And, most of the locals live in high-rise gated apartments.

Sometimes, I too, become lost in this isolated gated world. And it can be difficult to get out of my comfort zone. Before I can say zaapadooda, I have become one of those zombie-looking humans whom I once walked past in NUS.

Why does it take a travel or an experience outside my world to realise that I’m such a small being living in this great beautiful world? And not something that will come instantly to my mind.

We should sing praise and give thanks every single waking moment of our lives. We deserve to be happy, rather than to be grumpy about a car chugging along the expressway at 70km/h.

We need to always remind ourselves, the world is such a beautiful place to live in. And there is always something happy lurking around the corners.

“Today is a beautiful day”. That was my phone’s waking message to me 5 years ago.

Indeed, today is a beautiful day.

Every day is a beautiful day. Regardless.

Calling Paris

I can’t believe that I finally put my 2 months crash course french lessons into good use today. Even though it was sadly broken french, but I made my first successful phone call to France!

Je suis très heureux.

As for the reason why I called to France, I shall leave it under the wraps for the moment.

So very happy.

Coach poppy pencil case

More magazine

Hey girlies! Good things are meant to be shared. You have got to be really excited about this.

In the latest magazine tie-up, japanese magazine More collaborated with popular fashion house Coach to come up with a cute red Coach pencil case and two pens, in tune with their fall 2009 poppy series.

In view that two weeks ago there was a massive queue outside Coach boutique in Takashimaya, I can’t understand why this magazine has been sitting in Kinokuniya for such a long time.

Coach poppy

I admit that prior to buying the magazine I contemplated on whether I should get it, because I had this illogical fear that it was a too-good-to-be-true-offer and feared that it would be of inferior quality.

Coach poppy pencil case and pens

But, hey it was an authentic coach pencil case retailing for $18.10. Plus at a 20% discount (Kinokuniya GSS special), which meant that this pencil case and the two pens is being sold for $14.48? Come on. Whom am I kidding.

It looks really pretty, do get your copy from the Kino stores before they run out!

Snakeskin embossed leather heels are in!

Lacau AldoRabenhorst AldoCoatney Aldo

Hello pretties! Check out the latest snakeskin embossed leather heels from Aldo.

Even though I dread walking in towering 4 inch plus heels, I can’t help, but be attracted to these scaly heels. There must be something about combining exotic looking leather and crafting them into stilettos. Put on a slinky LBD for that hot date of yours, sizzling.

PS: I was pretty obsessed with Coatney (the shoe on the right). It took me 2 days, 3 boutique visits and 2 phone calls, to find that all 5 Aldo stores ran out of my size. So, I had to buy them online. I just had to.

Can’t wait to get my hands on Coatney, Milkovich, and Fiji (my boots are coming too!).

Darn, the bane of my life is online shopping.

PPS: Will upload unique Etsy finds soon!

The scent of new leather

Parcels pour moiFolks folks!!! After two weeks of waiting, my morelle clutches are here.

You have no idea how excited I was during these two weeks. Everytime, I heard the door bell ring, I would rush downstairs, only to be disappointed - they were all my sister’s parcels.

Grey clutchOn the side note, my sister really has a lot of parcels delivered to her. So, you can imagine how upset I was whenever I opened the door.

Brown clutchGrey clutchThus, when the door bell rang again this morning, I was not motivated to climb down four flight of steps. I was like, “It must be one of my sister’s parcels again, I shall not go down and be disappointed.”

Nope! The parcels were mine! They were all mine! So I dashed down the few floors in like 0.000001 second.

Even the postman could sense my joy, and was happy for me, he chirped, “Only two? All yours?” And I yelped in excitement, “Yes! Only two, mine! Thanks, bye!”

Oh, the leather smells so diBrown clutchvine. Slurp.

PS: I found some awesome stuff on Etsy. Will share them soon!

PPS: Check out the photos of the bag! They look absolutely gorgeous.

Milkovich

BanglesI had my eyes on these Aldo bangles for a looong time. I haven’t been so crazy about a bunch of metal in a whilst.

So Indian, so modern, and so colourful! I just melt at the crazy fusion of the colour.

If it weren’t because it was SGD$35 I would have gotten my hands on them sooner. I just can’t wait for them to get here.
