Gypsy Rain
The other day I was commenting that I needed more me time. Guess what? I decided to stop procrastinating and get working on it. I took the Saturday night off and strolled down Orchard Road, all by myself. And boy, am I glad that I did just that.
As I skipped into Guess in Ngee Ann City, and laid my eyes on the loud bags, skimpy tops and cute dresses; I felt as if I was shopping in Vancouver. I recalled how I had left my trusty debit card back in the hotel, and was unable to purchase a super awesome pair of glittery jeans in Victoria. I felt so damned then, because that pair of jeans was only SGD 70 bucks; honestly, I still feel damned now, because I still think they fit perfectly and are awfully cute.
I took some time to walk around the rest of Ngee Ann City; popped into Club Monaco, Mango, Zara, and Pull & Bear. Thereafter, I stopped over for a quick bite at Takashimaya food place, to replenish some energy. It really feels good to be able to shop by yourself, and at a comfortable pace. Maybe this is my way of getting into my own spirits (who knows), but after window shopping for one hour, I felt really at peace with myself.
My last shopping stop was at Wisma Atria. There was this shop that was having a massive sale on some designer brands. Truthfully, I never really liked to go for such sales, because 1) I know that most of the good stuff have been snapped up, or 2) they are still very pricey despite being on sale. Nonetheless, I decided to walk into the shop. One more trip back into the shop, and I got myself a Francesco Biasa tote bag. =)
It is probably one of my best buys ever, because I got it at a steal for 80% off its original price. I’m swooning over its glossy brick brown leather (i love leather!) and huge storage space. It spots a classy design (which is a plus point) and carries itself well. Also, with its subtle look, it does not scream “designer” in your face, which is very important for my job.
