BR: This is how it happened

A few months ago, I was browsing the Chinese book shop at Cathay and chance upon a girly book series called Little Black Dress Books. Fun fiction for the girl at heart. True marketing genuis I thought.

So I picked up a couple of books from the series and have been reading since then.

First up, the only one I have managed to complete - This is how it happened. The story goes that Maddy is plotting a pay-back-revenge on her ex-fiance who stole her marketing ideas and kicked her out when he finally got hold of the company. She first starts off with simple witch spells and then hires a hit-man. What I like best about this story is that the chapters ding-dong between 1) what did the fiance do to maddy and 2) maddy’s plots. Rather refreshing way of writing. But well, like all girly books, the girl wins beating the poor lad and it’s hooray for the reader!

[...] personally preferred the first book I read for its interesting way of writing. This fit-for-a-tv-drama-series story was a little cliche [...]
